Lyrically, this song is about a philosophical dichotomy and how the powers-that-be wish for everyone to believe that all things are material and can be commoditized so that they can own everything even though in reality they own nothing. Also this song laments the masses falling into mind-control, and how now, more and more, people feel empty and soul-less and desire for their own assimilation in a blind attempt to validate their existence; even though this very assimilation is the cause of their empty soul-less-ness.

Lies guard groups from the blankness they've seen.
Groups gather to memorize the memories of their king
Who devours experience, defiling time.
And anything that's not recorded is a crime.

Databases distracting the Weak from the True,
Wrong eternities, endless deflection for proof,
Standing on stage in a stadium full of spies,
Who can only comprehend what's been translated to lies.

Lies remain after disclosure is done--
